Much of the flood damages are concentrated in urban areas because most human and economic issues are concentrated there. In this research work, I studied the detailed modeling of flows during urban floods. An experimental study on an urban model was carried out and made it possible to characterize the influence of flow exchange between the sewage network and surface runoff on the properties of the flow in the streets during urban floods. A 1D / 2D numerical model which takes into account the interaction between the two flow layers has been constructed and validated with the experimental results. Then, an application on a field case was made for better risk management.
